The JDB will perform at the Food for Thought: A News Cafe First Birthday Party. The event will include wines by Lassen Peak Winery and a Cartoon-a-Thon featuring Benita Epstein (New Yorker, Wall Street Journal) and Phil Fountain (Food for Thought, D.A.T.E.). The JDB will open the 2nd Saturday Art Hop outside Carnegie's in downtown Redding. The Art Hop is a new monthly event that showcases local artists and musicians, who perform and display their art during evening hours at many businesses around Redding.
Sept. 5, 2008 -- Redding -- Turtle Bay Exploration Park -- 8 p.m.
The JDB will play at the Culture Shock event inside the museum from 8 to 9:30 p.m. This month's Culture Shock theme is "CSI: Crime Scene (Mis)Information." Redding police crime scene technician Mike Darling will debunk misinformation from TV crime shows. The band will play its American roots music. Cost: $4 for members; $5 for non-members. The JDB will return to this popular downtown Redding venue for an evening of great food and music. No cover charge.

Jim Dyar will be one of the singer-songwriters performing at this Songwriter Showcase. On the docket: Still Married, Jim (at 7:30 p.m.), Nick Ciampi, Paul Howell, David Thompson, and Tim Keesey.
Aug. 7, 2008 -- Redding -- Vintage Wine Bar -- 8:30 p.m.
Jim Dyar will play rhythm guitar with alternative country songwriter Brendon Alvord and his band. The Vintage, which serves dinner and boasts a large wine selection, is located at 1790 Market St. in Redding, kitty-corner from the Cascade Theatre.
July 24, 2008 -- Redding -- Vintage Wine Bar -- 8 p.m.
Jim Dyar will play rhythm guitar with Redding songwriter Brendon Alvord and his band. The alternative country artist will begin his set around 8 p.m. Vocalist Torri Pratt of the Jim Dyar Band will also sing backup on an assortment of Alvord's tunes.
June 27, 2008 -- Redding - The Post Office Saloon & Grill, downtown mall, 1636 Market St. - 8:30-11:30 p.m.
Singer-songwriter evening featuring Jim Dyar and Santa Cruz-based Michael Gaither. No cover charge. Michael and Jim got to know each other at the Strawberry Music Festival, which takes place each spring and fall at Camp Mather in Yosemite National Park. This event is a good opportunity to hear both musicians play their original songs in an acoustic setting.
June 21, 2008 -- Lakehead -- Klub Klondike -- 8 p.m.
Members of the JDB return to Klub Klondike (second Lakehead exit off Interstate 5 north of Redding) for a show at this classic roadhouse.
June 1, 2008 -- Redding - Taste of Redding - Redding City Hall, 777 Cypress Ave. - noon
The JDB joins five other bands in this annual outdoor event featuring food, spirits and music. Music is free. Food and beverage passes: $25-$35. The event is from noon to 4 p.m. The JDB will play from noon to 3 p.m. For more information, click here.
May 11, 2008 -- Old Shasta - Shasta Art Faire and Old-Time Fiddle Jamboree - Shasta Elementary School, 10500 Red Bluff Road, Shasta - 1 p.m.
JDB members will play some tunes at this two-day art fair extravaganza in historic Old Shasta. The band will play on Sunday afternoon. Admission is a $5 donation (children under 8 free). A shuttle service operates on the half-hour from Shasta High School's upper lot.

Ring in the new year with The Jim Dyar Band, as it returns to its "home base" at Klub Klondike in Lakehead, about 10 miles north of Redding off Interstate 5 (take the second Lakehead exit). The Jim Dyar Band will reprise its fantastic Wizard of Oz costumes when they play tonight at Pellegrini's. If you've been looking for an excuse to check out this new restaurant, this is it! A costume party is part of the evening's fun, so dress up if you're so inclined. Pellegrini's is at 40 Hartnell Ave. in the Cobblestone Shopping Center (where Taj Majal restaurant used to be).

The JDB will perform at a Kickoff to '08 fundraiser sponsored by the Democratic Central Committee of Shasta County.

Jim Dyar will play some original songs on acoustic guitar as part of a Songwriters' Showcase put on by Redding musician Nick Ciampi. Other artists include Lisa Kelly with Andrea, the Home Grown Trio, Nick Ciampi, Wyatt Olson, Aaron Lucero, and David Thompson. The event is free; donations benefit the Shasta County Arts Council. Old City Hall is at 1313 Market St. in Redding. Jim's set will be sometime around 7:30 p.m.
Aug. 17, 2007 - Lakehead - Klub Klondike - 8:30 p.m.
The small-town, down-home feel of the Klondike is a favorite of JDB fans, who like to kick up their heels on the big dance floor and savor the taste of Leon's steaks and special ale. Dinner is served 6-9 p.m., and the music starts around 8:30 p.m. There is no cover charge.
Aug. 11, 2007 - Redding - Old Millhouse Restaurant - 6 p.m. (Set list)
On the Green: The JDB joins local band the Torpedoes at this scenic, rustic setting on Eureka Way in west Redding. Gates open at 5 p.m., with the JDB playing around 6 p.m. The Millhouse is known for its pizza, salad and desserts, so bring your appetite and a lawn chair to enjoy this outdoor concert.
