Cinco de Mayo at Pio Loco! Come join the JDB for a rare Tuesday (May 5) show at the beautiful Pio Loco Restaurant (1135 Pine St., 246-2111) in Redding. The music starts at 7 p.m., but dinner starts at 4:30 and the restaurant will be featuring a number of dinner and drink specials.

• Jim Dyar Band (acoustic) at the Sustainability Conference at Shasta College at 7 p.m. on April 18.


• The JDB performs Friday (March 13) at Pio Loco Restaurant in Redding.

• The JDB returns to the
Vintage Wine Bar and Restaurant in Redding on Saturday (Feb. 21). The 8 p.m. acoustic show will feature musicians Jim Dyar, Michael Gregory, Torri Pratt and Eric Day.

JDB at Redding's monthy ArtHop

(POSTED AUG. 23, 2008) -- The Jim Dyar Band was the featured artist for the 2nd Saturday Art Hop on Oct. 11 in front of Carnegie's restaurant and pub (1600 Oregon St.). The Art Hop takes place every month and features a variety of local artists and musicians at businesses downtown and throughout the city. For more information on the ArtHop, click here.
 


This week: North Star & Vintage

(POSTED AUG. 18, 2008) -- Jim Dyar Band members will perform twice this week in Shasta County. On Thursday night, Jim joins other local musicians at a Songwriter Showcase at North Star Brewery in Shasta Lake. The showcase is from 7-10 p.m., with Jim scheduled to perform acoustic originals at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday night (Aug. 23), The JDB returns to the Vintage Wine Bar and Restaurant in downtown Redding. Former band member Shawn Tillman will join the group for the show, which starts around 8 p.m. For more information, visit the gigs page.


Brendon and Jim Return to the Vintage

(POSTED AUG. 5, 2008) -- Jim Dyar will repeat his rhythm guitar performance this Thursday with Redding songwriter Brendon Alvord and his band at the Vintage wine bar in downtown Redding (1790 Market St.). The alternative country artist will begin his set around 8:30 p.m.

Brendon Alvord at the Vintage

Jim Dyar will play rhythm guitar with Redding songwriter Brendon Alvord and his band on Thursday night, July 24, at the Vintage wine bar in downtown Redding (1790 Market St.). The alternative country artist will begin his set around 8 p.m.

Of Brendon, Jim says: "He's an amazing songwriter with fascinating layers and textures to his music. Lyrically, he sets the bar incredibly high. He's on the verge of releasing a new album full of stellar songs. Once it's out, it wouldn't surprise me if he starts gaining a very big audience."

Vocalist Torri Pratt of the Jim Dyar Band will also sing backup on an assortment of Alvord's tunes.


Songwriter Showcase

(POSTED JULY 12, 2008) -- Jim Dyar will perform a 25-minute acoustic set Aug. 21 at a North State Songwriter Showcase event at North Star Craft Brewery in Shasta Lake, from 7-10 p.m. All ages are welcome. Other performers include Still Married and Nick Ciampi. More details soon on the gigs page.
